DJR has now merged with Paul Morris Motorsports for the 2012 V8 Supercars Championship Season

Two Iconic Queensland V8 Supercar Teams Merge to create a 4-car Ford Superteam

Dick Johnson Racing (DJR) formally announced its merger with Paul Morris Motorsports (PMM) and unveiled the new look V.I.P. Petfoods Ford Falcon for the 2012 V8 Supercars Championship Season at the Official Team Launch today.

The venture, announced at the V.I.P. Petfoods state of the art factory and head office on the Gold Coast, will see the PMM car #49 move across to the DJR stable and will see current driver, Steve Owen, drive a Ford FG Falcon for the first time as a full time driver in the Championship.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to compete in another full season in the main game, “ commented Owen, “I really have to thank Dick Johnson Racing and V.I.P. Petfoods for their continued support of my career.”

Commenting on the new team and the merger, Dick Johnson, Owner and Team Principal, Dick Johnson Racing says, “For the first time in our history, we will run a four-car team in the main game this year. It’s an exciting development for us and I really look forward to welcoming Steve back to DJR after his endurance drive with us in 2008.

The V8 Supercar Season kicks off with a free Test Day for fans at Sandown Raceway on Saturday 11th February, followed by the season opener, Clipsal 500 in Adelaide, SA, 1st - 4th March 2012.
